Observers

Required vaccinations are in the "Signature Forms" link below (See the New Volunteer, Intern, and Observer Health Screening form)

Observers are defined as those enrolled in a pre-medical higher education program that are 18+ years of age, but not yet to the level of patient care. An observer will shadow a Covenant Health medical professional with no hands-on learning and should never at any time participate in care delivered to the patient. This process is not offered for those completing the credentialing process.

Exceptions:

  • Students 16+ years of age may be considered when providing a letter of recommendation by a school official on your school's letterhead.

  • Visiting Physicians, Allied Health, and Nursing will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

**OBSERVER MUST PROCURE THEIR OWN SUPERVISOR**

Follow the instructions below to complete the onboarding process: All information should be submitted a minimum of 2 weeks prior to observer start date for processing.

  1. Complete the Physician/Professional Observer Application (Includes acknowledgment of attestations)
  2. Download and complete Signature Forms (Supervising Professional Agreement must be signed by both the student and the provider(s) you are observing with start-end dates that you will be shadowing.)
